BURGLARS went on a crime binge in Saltash over the weekend, stealing items including two vehicles, a set of golf clubs and expensive power tools.
The spate of thefts apparently started with a yellow Vauxhall Vivaro van from a lay by in New Road on Thursday, November 5. The van had ladders on its roof when taken and noticeable motifs on its front and rear.
There followed a crime spree with power tools taken from a property in New Road overnight on Friday and a number of mobile phones and car keys stolen from a commercial property in Gilston Road, before a white Citroen C1 car taken from the Hillside Avenue area of the Cornish town on Monday morning.
There was also an attempt to break into a jewellers on Fore Street shortly after the car was taken.
Police found both vehicles in St George's Road shortly afterwards, when they also discovered a stolen set of golf clubs, as well as a 19ins television and a gentleman's watch.
The keys to the van and the Citroen have not been found and may have been discarded between St Georges Road and Burraton Crossroads.
Police say a man in his 30s was arrested in the vicinity of Burraton crossroads in connection with these crimes and has since been released on bail until January pending further inquiries.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who recognises the watch (pictured) or has not yet reported a burglary over the weekend in the Saltash area.
Anyone who believes they saw the van between Thursday afternoon and Monday morning, or who may have captured the van or the Citroen on their CCTV is also asked to contact the Police.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference CR/77585/15 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.Crimestoppers-uk.org.
