A MAN has appeared in court accused of ransacking a home and stealing belongings worth thousands of pounds.
Ricky White, aged 33, faced Plymouth magistrates charged with burglary.
He allegedly entered a house in Dingle Road, North Prospect, as a trespasser and stole electronic and other personal belongings worth £2,770 on August 26.
White is further charged with possession of the Class C drug Valium on the same day.
White, of North Prospect Road, indicated no plea to both allegations.
Caroline Gates, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said he was arrested on the same day as the burglary.
She said the woman resident was out at the time and returned to find her front door open.
Mrs Gates said an "untidy search" had been carried out.
Magistrates ruled that the case was so serious that it could only be heard at Plymouth Crown Court.
White was released on conditional bail to appear before a judge on December 7. He must not contact the resident nor approach her home.
