A TEENAGE girl from Plymouth was violently assaulted by a mob whilst walking through the woods at the weekend.
The 16-year-old was walking home on a secluded pathway through Blackie Woods between 8.25pm and 8.40pm on Sunday, August 23 when she had her path blocked by four teenagers.
When she asked if she could pass by, one of the girls dragged her to the ground, and she was repeatedly kicked and punched in the head and body.
The girl sustained cuts and bruising to her face and leg following the assault which involved two males and two females, all aged around 17-18. They all ran off in the direction of Wolseley Road.
Police say she was left shocked and upset by the assault which she described as totally unprovoked.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and for anyone who saw the group in the area of the woods or Wolseley Road at the time.
