A COUPLE who had sex together in a park in front of shocked bystanders are to appear before magistrates for sentencing.

Prolific offenders Darren Carter-Moore, aged 27, and 24-year-old Gemma Pinkerton are charged with committing an act outraging public decency.

The pair admitted to having sexual intercourse in full view of witnesses in broad daylight at Devonport Park on July 30.

Carter-Moore was due to appear at Plymouth Magistrates' Court yesterday (Thursday) but his case has been adjourned until September 14 after he was recalled to Exeter prison.

Pinkerton, of Ham Drive, appeared before magistrates today charged with one count of an act outraging public decency and three counts of breaching an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

Her case has been adjourned until September 4 to allow for a probation report to be prepared.

Heroin addict Carter-Moore, latterly of King Street, Stonehouse, has a long history of previous convictions including burglary, theft and driving while disqualified dating back half of his life.

He was one of the youngest people in Plymouth at the age of 14 to be handed an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

Pinkerton, who has also used drugs, also has a record going back to when she was a youth.

She has been convicted of robbery, violence and dishonesty.
